What is the Spirit Pilot Program ?

4 Aircraft

Thales equips the whole Spirit Airlines fleet with connectivity. As a test pilot for the FlytEdge solution we chose to upgrade 4 of those aircraft with our on-board datacenter, giving Spirit guests a sneak peek into the potential of FlytEdge.

Up to a year

The pilot is slated to run for up to a year, thanks to the flexibility of FlytEdge the ambition is to do continuous updates throughout this year, to conduct A/B testing, gather data and deploy new services.

FlytEdge through connectivity

Spirit Airlines does not have seatback screen so the FlytEdge experience will be accessed only on personal devices after connecting to the wifi.

The Passenger Experience

Onboard-multiplayer Games from Ubisoft

For the first time, passengers will be able to play together instant-fun games from Ubisoft.

Digital Press from Adaptive

Spirit guest will be able to access periodicals and magazines from popular English and Spanish providers.

FlightPath3D Moving Map from Betria

Enabling guests to track their flight, see all the routes Spirit is flying or get a virtual tour of places that are a must see.

Destination Experiences from DiscoverCity

Through aggregation of listings from Viator and TicketMasters, passengers can browse and book experiences at their destination.

Personalization from Spideo

Thanks to an innovative cross-domain recommendation engine completely brought at the edge, guests will be presented with personalized recommendations of content from all the services listed, based on how they interact with the system.
